Should I worry about my suitcase being too big for International airline travel?

I just bought a 29″ Dockers rolling/spinning suitcase, and I like it a lot. However, it is large. It measures 20″ wide x 29″ tall x 11″ thick, plus expands another 2″ thick. The measurements total 60″ if I don’t use the expansion capability. Most airlines seem to have a 62″ limit on size and 44 pounds - after which they will charge you.

I haven’t traveled much (but I plan to from now on) and I’m going to China in October. I am worried that this suitcase is too big and I will get charged extra. Air China’s limits are 62″ and 44 pounds.
I thought about loading it up and weighing it (will do tomorrow), but I thought I’d ask people if they own a suitcase of this size and if they have or have not had problems with checking it in on various airlines.
I guess I could return it and buy the next smaller size, but my trip is for 12 days so I feel like I need a larger bag.
Any and all advice is appreciated!

The airlines limit otherwise they would charge you buy one of their bags for an amount of money because it weights less than the airlines limit then it happened.

An extra duffel bag in my suitcase for stuff since you are allowed up to checkin bags it worked great.
